Each year D.C. welcomes spring with the blossoming of 3000+ cherry trees around the Tidal Basin and subsequently welcomes the 1.5 million tourists that flood the Basin (pun intended) to soak in the glory of the blooms.

As you can imagine, thousands of blooming trees are every photographer’s dream!!!! The light pink, fluffy blossoms are pure magic but also carry the hefty price of a 5am wakeup if you want to capture photos before the crowds descend. And even though the McDonald’s drive through near our house wasn’t open yet on this particular morning, the early early wakeup was SO. WORTH. IT.

Marc is a physician and Rachel works in public health (can I get a round of applause for these two healthcare warriors?!?!?!) so their schedules are PACKED, but I am so thankful we got time together to capture these gorgeous engagement photos for them!

Reason number one billion why Rachel and Marc are the best: they rocked their outfits at their session! Like, I can’t get over that dress. Dress lovers, here’s a tip for you: find a dress that will flow in the wind! It adds a whole new element of movement to your photos and is SOOOOOOO FREAKING ROMANTIC!!!!!!
